Google plans massive virtual library

Last month, Google announced working with Oxford University, Harvard, Stanford, the University of Michigan and the New York Public Library, for the creation of an online library. The books from those collections will be digitally scanned allowing users worldwide to search them in Google.

To avoid copy right issue, Oxford will allow Google to scan all of its books that were printed before 1901, while the New York library will give the company access to its small portion of books that are no longer in copyright.

We will soon see a new search tool for finding books in virtual library in Google web sites.
